HR1 MEDICAID CHANGES
HR1 (aka “The One Big Beautiful Bill”) introduced sweeping changes to Medicaid eligibility, enrollment, reporting and funding. As part of the roll-out for these new policies, many government agencies, advocacy groups, and nonprofits have created resources to help beneficiaries, providers and community groups understand and implement these changes.
We created our HR1 Medicaid Resource Bank to serve as a centralized source for information, advocacy toolkits and other resources to help providers, beneficiaries and advocates understand and navigate these changes effectively.
This page houses materials shared through the NC Institute of Public Health’s (NCIPH) Public Health Policy Forum and the Policy Skill-Building Seminar Series, including presentation slides, a Relationship-Building & Legislative Engagement Activity toolkit, legislative resources, and much more.
“The NCIPH Policy Learning Collaboratives support governmental public health staff in building practical, nonpartisan policy knowledge and skills. Resources reflect real-world policy conversations, expert insights, and applied learning shared during live sessions, designed to be useful whether you attended or are exploring on your own!”
While these presentations and tools were designed with public health professionals in mind, they are a valuable resource for anyone who wants to improve their knowledge, skills, and practice of health policy advocacy.

WNC DATA STORIES & COMPREHENSIVE WNC REGIONAL DATA
“Through WNC Healthy Impact, WNC Health Network works alongside local hospitals, public health departments, and community partners to collect, analyze, and share meaningful data about health in our region. The regional dataset is the premier source of meaningful county-level health data in the region and is used to analyze and inform local and regional-level planning for community health. This results in local health priorities. Using a systematic analysis of the regional dataset, WNC Health Network tells data stories around key regional health issues.
Data Stories are snapshots of key health issues in Western North Carolina. They blend local data with community voices to help people understand what’s happening, and why it matters. - WNC Health Network
